Robert E. Godosky has spent his entire career representing individuals injured by the negligence of others. He handles the majority of the medical malpractice cases in the office and assumed Managing Attorney responsibilities in 1999. Robert has tried cases in all areas of personal injury, including medical malpractice, labor law, automobile accidents and premise accidents and has recently obtained a multi-million dollar verdict for the family of a disabled firefighter who died as a result of hospital negligence. Robert was appointed to the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association in 2004. He has lectured on several topics in the field of negligence and personal injury. Robert is a graduate of Hamilton College and Fordham University School of Law. He lives in Manhattan with his wife Laurie and their sons, Jake and Josh. Jeffrey R. Brecker has been with Godosky & Gentile since its inception. A Martindale-Hubbell "AV" rated attorney, he has been listed in the "Who's Who in American Law" since 1992. Mr. Brecker is a member of various bar associations, sits on the Medical Malpractice Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, and is past chairperson of it's Tort Litigation Committee. Mr. Brecker was adjunct Professor at the new College of Hofstra University and has lectured in the areas of torts and legal procedure. In over twenty years as an attorney for both plaintiffs and defendants Mr. Brecker has handled all facets of personal injury and malpractice litigation with a special expertise in construction site accidents. Well known to the insurance industry and its attorneys Mr. Brecker is active in numerous negotiations leading to substantial awards on behalf of the firm's clients.
David Godosky, prior to joining the firm, worked as a prosecutor in the Office of the Bronx District Attorney. During his tenure as an Assistant District Attorney, David honed his skills trying all types of felony criminal cases including narcotics, violent crime, and domestic violence. In addition to the extensive trial work, David presented hundreds of cases to the Grand Jury and ran several homicide investigations. At Godosky & Gentile, David has handled serious personal injury cases, and is responsible for the majority of the firm's cases arising out of police brutality and civil rights violations. In one such case, David obtained a verdict for over $1,000,000. for a Staten Island man shot by an off-duty police officer. In addition to working on commercial litigation matters and disciplinary work, David is heavily involved in the firm's appellate practice. In that area, David won a landmark decision in the Court of Appeals on behalf of a nurse injured by the side-effects of medications. David is a graduate of Cornell Law School and lives in Manhattan with his wife Renée and their twin daughters Isabelle and Alexandra.
Pasquale Vairo began the practice of law as an Assistant District Attorney in the Office of the Bronx District Attorney, where he handled hundreds of violent and non-violent criminal cases, from narcotics to homicides. During his six years as a prosecutor and seven years in civil practice, Pasquale acquired extensive trial experience which he brings to bear at Godosky & Gentile, specializing in personal injury, medical malpractice, and commercial litigation cases. Thomas M. Gannons' legal career has been devoted exclusively to the representation of victims of personal injury and wrongful death. In addition to handling all types of general negligence cases, Thomas has a specialized background in product liability matters. He has successfully prosecuted many multi-million dollar cases against manufacturers of motor vehicles and producers of industrial, consumer and health related products. Thomas has litigated cases against such manufacturers as General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Kawasaki, Hitachi, and Whirlpool. To prosecute these highly technical matters, he has traveled around the country, networking with various governmental agencies, consumer groups, attorneys and experts to keep abreast of all developments regarding product defects. Thomas also assists the firm in representing New York City firefighters that are unnecessarily injured while in the line of duty, as well as those firefighters and their families affected by the tragic events of September 11, 2001.
Hakeem Jeffries, prior to affiliating with the firm, served as an assistant general counsel with CBS Broadcasting, Inc., litigation counsel with Viacom, Inc. and as an associate in the litigation department of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, LLP. Hakeem has over nine years of experience litigating commercial, First Amendment, and civil rights matters in state and federal court, as well as conducting internal investigations. He is a magna cum laude graduate of NYU School of Law, and lives in Brooklyn.
William Gentile began the practice of law as an Assistant State Attorney at the Miami-Dade County State Attorney's Office. He handled hundreds of violent and non-violent criminal cases, including narcotics, child molestation, homicide, and complex fraud cases. In two years as a prosecutor, William acquired extensive trial experience at the misdemeanor and felony level serving as lead counsel on over 25 trials. William is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School and received his undergraduate degree at New York University.
