New York Law Firm Godosky and Gentile Represents Lawyers in Sultan of Brunei Business Lawsuit

The New York Law Firm of Godosky and Gentile is serving as counsel for one of the defendant’s in a highly publicized case involving Brunei’s Prince Jefri and his former business advisers. Prince Jefri is the brother of the Sultan of Brunei and has filed a lawsuit against British barrister Thomas Derbyshire, his wife Faith Zaman Derbyshire, and two of faith Derbyshire’s brothers. The Derbyshire have been accused by the Sultan of misappropriation of assets when they performed various services for him between summer 2004 and November 2006. According to the prince’s lawsuit, the Derbyshire, his former legal and financial advisors swindled him out of $7 million when they performed legal services for him between 2004 and 2006. The husband and wife team have also countersued the Sultan for the $12 million they allege he owes them.
