City life can be very dangerous. The roads are always crowded with bumper-to-bumper traffic, bicycles and pedestrians. Practicing safe driving skills is all we can do, but that doesn’t necessarily keep us safe from less conservative drivers. It’s unavoidable, but it’s part of the reason that so many people are injured in motor vehicle accidents in New York each year.
A car accident in western New York recently saw three injuries and one fatality. The accident happened south of Rochester when two vehicles collided, leaving four people trapped in the cars. Three were hospitalized with serious injuries, while the fourth died at the scene.
This accident occurred on a rural road, and serves as a reminder that it’s not just city traffic that can cause accidents. Whether it’s negligence on the part of one or both drivers, extreme weather conditions or even a car being in a state of disrepair, accidents can happen anywhere at any time. While we rarely have control over the circumstances leading up to an accident, we can certainly influence the aftermath of a crash.
The law is very clear when it comes to wrongful deaths or negligence in car accidents, and victims can often be compensated for the suffering they endure. However, it’s understandable that the last thing most people want to think about after a traumatic car accident is legal proceedings.
Luckily for those who want the compensation they deserve but still need to focus on healing or, in the worst case, grieving, they can enlist the help of legal counselors to fight their battles for them. This can give victims the best of both worlds, as they are able to cope as they see fit without suffering in silence.
